Airport information

Travel between terminals

Getting between terminals

A free inter-terminal bus service operates every 20 minutes between the international and domestic terminals. The bus operates from 6am - 10.30pm daily. Our airport maps will show you where to find our transfer buses.

Alternatively, follow the signs for a 10-minute walk.

Domestic transfer

Before booking a domestic flight please allow around three hours to cover procedures for entry into New Zealand, as well as any unexpected flight or processing delays.

Updates on changes to flight information is available.

If you are catching a domestic flight within New Zealand please go to the domestic transfer desk, after collecting your luggage and clearing Customs, on the ground floor of the international terminal.

Luggage will only be checked in if you have allowed at least one hour before the departure of any domestic flight.

If you miss this check-in time please go direct to the domestic terminal using the free inter-terminal bus which comes every 20 minutes or follow the sign-posted blue and white line walkway.

If your checked in luggage weighs more than 20kg, or carry on luggage more than 7kg, an excessive luggage charge may apply.

Our airport maps will show you where to go and our helpful staff are always ready to lend a hand.

International transfer desk and lounge

This facility is on the airport’s second level opposite the reading and writing area and can be found using our airport maps. Flight information is provided in this area for passengers travelling between international airlines.
